About Myself

I'm a computer programmer, proficient in assembler, C, C++, PHP, and various web markup languages. I am also interested in foreign language, specifially East Asian variants. I have studied Japanese for several years, as well as Mandarin for less than a year; although I am not proficient in either yet.

My nickname is actually Japanese for "(to make a) mistake" -- albeit a less than common reading for it. The reason for using this name is a long story, but suffice to say it holds some personal truth, hence I have opted to keep the rather unflattering name.

My website is a collection of the various projects I have worked on, as well as some of the tools I have written. I typically only list projects which I have a lead role in here.

I am presently writing my own SNES emulator, bsnes. My goal is not to create the best SNES emulator, but to reverse-engineer as much of the system as I can, and document my findings; so that they can be used to improve the overall accuracy of all SNES emulators. In the future, I plan to post my documentation to this site as well.

I have also participated in the fan translation scene for the past decade or so. I have completed quite a few translations, the most notable being a Super Famicom title named "Der Langrisser". However, my primary role in this scene is assisting other people with their various projects behind the scenes. I also write tools such as bsnes' debugger, cross assemblers, and disassemblers.

As if I don't have enough to keep me busy: I also like to draw, and redigitize existing artwork using Photoshop. I would like to someday create a gallery of my works on this site.
